2010-2011 NUB’S NOB SPECIAL EVENTS CALENDAR!

October 9 – Annual Nub’s Nob Open House with demo ski sale, discounts on equipment tune ups, free chair lift rides and a cook out.  10 to 4 p.m.  The office will be open to process season tickets at our 10% off sale.

October 10 - Cutoff date for 10% pre-season discount on the best season ticket value in the Midwest!  Passes are still available after this date at regular prices.

Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25 – Weather permitting, we plan to open today!

Early Season Discount Lift Ticket Period. From opening day until December 10th enjoy the best in early season skiing at reduced rates.

Dec. 4 & 5 - United States Ski Association Central Division Region III training weekend on Scarface.  Open to all USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772.

Dec. 5 - The Dorie Sarns Open and USSA Michigan Masters Race. Giant slalom racing on Valley with $10 entry fee donated to the Nub's Nob CUSSA Team.  Great prizes!  Register at the Winter Sport Schools desk.  All ages.  Racing begins at 1 p.m. 

Dec. 11 & 12 - Ski Academy Camp features two days of intensive training for kids and adults in the gates.  Call the Winter Sport Schools for more information at 800-SKI-NUBS. 9:30am start.

Dec. 11 & 12 - United States Ski Association Central Division Regional races on Scarface.  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772.

Dec. 13 & 14 - United States Ski Association Central Division Level 100 Coaches Clinic.  Contact Chelsea Steinbach at 435-647-2050 at USSA for details.

Dec. 18 & 19 - United States Ski Association Central Division Region III Mid-Ams on Scarface.  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772.

Dec. 26 - 31 Nub's Nob Racing Christmas/Holiday Training Camp features 6 days of the best training and coaching for serious ski racers of all ages.  Must be a USSA member to attend.  Go to www.nubsnob.com /racing for enrollment dates, requirements and schedules or call the Winter Sport Schools for more information at 800-SKI-NUBS.

Dec. 26 - Holiday Night Skiing & Riding begins and runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on December 26 through January 1 with the exception of New Year’s Eve.  Our regular night skiing calendar then begins on Monday, January 3 and runs every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until March 12th from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and 5 till 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.  We are also open for holiday night skiing on Sunday January 16 and February 20 from 6 till 10 p.m.

Dec. 31 - New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade beginning at 6 p.m. at the bottom of the Green lift. No charge.

Jan. 1 - United States Ski Association Great Lakes Division Freestyle XC races.  Contact Nic Baic at (231) 535-2475 for registration and race information.

Jan. 3 through 31 - DISCOVER MICHIGAN SKIING & SNOWBOARDING! Promotion begins with special incentives for first-time beginner skiers & snowboarders.  Call the Winter Sport Schools for details at 800 SKI NUBS.

Jan. 3 - Night Skiing begins and runs every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until March 12th from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and 5 till 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.  We are also open for holiday night skiing on Sunday January 16 and February 20 from 6 till 10 p.m.

Jan. 3 - Ski Academy Monday night sessions start and run through February 21, 2011.  6:30 – 8:30pm ages 7-12. Call the Winter Sport Schools at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 3 - Labatt Adult Race Leagues start. 30th year of fun league racing continues every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday night until March 10, 2010.

Jan. 5 – Ski & Snowboard Academy Wednesday night sessions start and run through February 24, 2010.  6:30 – 8:30pm ages 7-12. Call the Winter Sport Schools at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 7 Harbor Springs High School MHSAA Conference ski meet begins at 5 pm on Smokey and Valley.

Jan. 8 - Ski Academy Saturday afternoon sessions begin for ages 7 - 12 from 2 – 4 pm through 2/26/11. Call the Winter Sport Schools at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 30 – City of Petoskey Ski and Snowboard Program - A learn to ski and snowboard program on 3 consecutive Sundays geared to the whole family.  Contact the Petoskey Parks and Rec Department at 347-2500.

Jan. 27 Petoskey High School MHSAA BNC Conference ski meet begins at 3 pm on Smokey and Valley.

Jan. 29 & 30 - Ski Racing Camp features two days of intensive NASTAR GS race training for adults and kids.  Call the Winter Sport Schools to register at 800-SKI-NUBS.  9:30 am and 2:30 pm starts.

Feb. 27 – Volkl/Marker Demo Day. Check out the 2010-11 skis from Volkl at the bottom of the Green lift.

Feb. 27 – “Beat Your Kid” race and Ski & Snowboard Academy Picnic –  The world famous "Beat Your Kid" head to head GS race and picnic party on Birch Run for our Ski & Snowboard Academy participants, parents and coaches. Sponsored by Nordica, Giro, Orage and Level.  2:30pm start.

Mar. 5 - The Dynastar/Lange Challenge – Giant slalom racing for skiers of all ages and abilities.  $8 entry fee.  Sponsored by Skis Dynastar and Lange ski boots with a grand prize drawing for a pair of Dynastar skis!

 March 5 - United States Ski Association Central Division Region III afternoon/evening race on Smokey.  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772.

March 12 The 49th Annual Nub’s Nob Open – Northern Michigan’s premier slalom racing event.  Top to bottom World Cup style slalom racing on Birch Run and Smokey. $8 entry fee. This race also counts for participants in the season-long Volkl/Marker Speed Series as race # 6.

March 12 – Enjoy entertainer Pete Kehoe in Nub’s Pub from 3 to 6 pm.

March 13 - Volkl/Marker/Point 6 Speed Series Race and USSA Michigan Masters Race. 10:00am  Super G Racing on Scarface. Championship final in 7 event Series. Open to advanced skiers and snowboarders age 13 and up.  Series and Championship awards to top 3 finishers in this Super G, Age/Gender classes and Overall follow this race. USSA membership required for Michigan Masters scoring only.

March 13 to 21Canadian Discount Period – We will be accepting Canadian money at par for lift tickets only during this time period.

 March 13 –Sunday Slam” Snowboard and Freeskier competition in the Terrain Park at 11 am.  Register at the Front Desk.

March 19The K2/SMITH Duals – Head-to-head dual giant slalom racing on Valley.  Open to skiers of all ages and abilities. $8 entry fee. Sponsored by K2 Skis and Smith goggles with a grand prize drawing for new K2s! 

 March 21 – Late Season Spring Discount Period Begins - Come enjoy the best in Michigan spring skiing &snowboarding at reduced rates through the end of the season.

March 21 – Spring Ski & Ride promotion begins! Your lift tickets are included in your lodging rate when staying at one of the participating lodging properties in the greater Petoskey/Harbor Springs area.  Call the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-845-2828 for participating hotels, motels, condominiums, chalets and lodges.

March 26 – Mardi Gras – Our annual Spring Fling with fun and games for all.  Don’t miss the Soaker Cup,Costume contest, Crazy couples and Pepsi Challenge races and the Petoskey Steel Drum Band on the deck!
