The Nub's Nob Technology Center opened in October 1999 and was the first shop if its' kind in the country. The Nub's Nob Technology Center is located just one step from the "Midwest's Best Snow" on the slope side of the Guest Services Building. It contains our high performance ski demo center, state-of-the-art tune equipment, and ski and snowboard tuning supplies and parts.

State-of-the-Art Tune-up & Service Center
The Nub's Nob Technology Center features the fully automated Wintersteiger Shuttle 3C ski tuning machine. This high-tech, computerized ski tuner was the first of its' kind in the United States.

The Shuttle 3C provides the best tune-up possible for your skis. Ski and Board Tune and Service It improves upon any factory ski finish and creates a variety of different base structures, edge and base bevels. One of the unique features of the Shuttle 3C is the fact that it uses patented Ceramic Disk Technology to sharpen, bevel, and polish the side and base edges. This Ceramic Disk Technology gives the ski edges the finest possible surface quality and sharpness. Many major ski manufacturers use Ceramic Disk Technology as well. Since the Shuttle 3C is fully automated, tune-ups can be consistently duplicated time after time. "The variety of base and edge finishes we can program into the Shuttle 3C allows us to meet the needs of every ski and skier from beginner to the highest level racer, " said Tech Center Manager Dylan Ott.

Alongside the Shuttle 3C, the Nub's Nob Technology Center has a machine specifically designed to tune snowboards. Nub's Nob Snowboard TuningThe Wintersteiger Micro 71 structures and sharpens your ride. Good snowboarders realize the benefits of a well-maintained board, they slide and edge better.

The Nub's Nob Technology Center also has features Wintersteiger's automated base repair, binding testing machine and side edge sharpening machines.

Many people think that only racers and experts need to have their gear tuned. Any well tuned snowboard or ski will perform, edge and glide better, making the sport more enjoyable and easier. Skis and boards are an investment and should be treated as such. Nobody would drive their vehicle with a flat tire, so why ski or ride with dull edges and no wax?
The professional technicians in the Nub's Nob Technology Center will be able to evaluate your needs and suggest a tune-up that fits your ability and ski type. "Our goal is to make sure everyone gets the maximum enjoyment from their gear. Not everyone needs a top of the line tune-up. It's our job to inspect that ski or snowboard and find a tune-up that fits the need and price range of each skier or rider" said Ott.

The Nub's Nob Technology Center also offers seasonal tune memberships for skiers and boarders who like a regular maintenance schedule and have their gear worked on frequently. The seasonal tune memberships are a great way for a family to keep all their gear maintained affordably. Tune memberships can be used on any service in the Nub's Nob Technology Center.
